Respect among employees at all levels is at the core of every great business. However, our programs are more than just how to prevent unlawful harassment and discrimination. They address and help eradicate the almost epidemic problem of disrespectful conduct in the workplace that may not be itself illegal, but nevertheless demeans employees and destroys morale. Restore respect between employees and position your organization for growth.
Increase Profits

The Workplace is Broken
According to the American Institute of Stress, 40% of workers reported their job was very or extremely stressful. 25% view their jobs as the number one stressor in their lives. 75% of employees believe that workers have more on-the-job stress than a generation ago. 29% of workers felt quite a bit or extremely stressed at work.
Excessive workplace stress causes a staggering 120,000 deaths and results in nearly $190 billion in health care costs each year. This represents 5% to 8% of national health care spending, derived primarily from high demands at work ($48 billion), lack of insurance ($40 billion), and work-family conflict ($24 billion).
According to a report by Health Advocate, stress has a negative impact on the productivity of a worker, and it can result in $300 billion in lost productivity.
As leaders, we all want our employees to get along, be fulfilled in their job and invested in company growth. Unfortunately, that’s not the reality in most organizations. Inappropriate and disrespectful conduct in the workplace is like pollution – it fouls the entire work environment. A polluted environment is unhealthy for employees and thwarts the possibility of a productive and prosperous workplace. A work environment where toxic and disrespectful behavior is tolerated causes untold amounts of stress upon employees.
Stress is characterized as “the Nation’s fastest growing occupational disease” by the National Council on Compensation Insurance and has become a major issue for corporate leaders today. With the recent rise in high cost stress claims, organizations have become interested in preventing potential stress problems.
Job stress can cause actual physical, mental and emotional problems for employees such as heart disease, hypertension, anxiety & depression and substance abuse. Research shows that approximately 100 million workdays are being lost due to stress and nearly 50% to 75% of diseases are related to stress. If employees’ stress is ignored by the employer, the results are increased healthcare costs, lower productivity and often additional financial losses due to legal damages. All of this results in lower profits for the business.
After getting weekly calls from employees wanting to sue their company because of a hostile work environment, it was evident we had to do something. Especially since the majority of the time, what was happening was not right but also not illegal. In response, we created The Respectful Workplace Framework. A proven process to minimize stress in the workplace and help drive growth for your business.
How We Restore Respect & Increase Your Profits
What’s important to understand is that we’re not running your typical boring H.R. training program. Our courses are designed to be upbeat and enjoyable while still delivering proven content that creates real results.
The Respectful Workplace Framework is the foundation for the work we do with businesses. It’s at the core of our various training programs and acts a guide for transforming your organization.
The framework consists of 4 Key Principles:
1. Establish Baseline Knowledge:
Establish common understanding around what is right and wrong, legal and illegal, when it comes to employee interaction in the workplace.
2. Understand the Facts
Educate all stakeholders on the various effects of toxic behavior in the workplace.
3. Empower Employees:
Equip employees and management with both the knowledge and skills to create change in the organization, move beyond the drama and focus on positive and productive activities.
4. Monitor Results:
Establish processes and procedures to monitor results, ensure change is happening and minimize risk on an ongoing basis.
Our Training Programs
Creating a Respectful Workplace
This program focuses on acceptable and unacceptable workplace conduct, from mild disrespect to outright bullying and harassment, and the types of behaviors that contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive, and therefore ultimately more profitable, workplace. The program is customizable for different types of workplaces and includes a section for reviewing employers’ own harassment prevention policies and procedures. The training provides attendees with tools to immediately foster a respectful work environment that values respect and reduces the risk of litigation for the employer.
Preventing Harassment & Discrimination
Workplace harassment, especially sexual harassment, are the most common employee complaints. It is not only problematic for supervisors and managers it is a huge liability for the business. Our program for harassment prevention helps foster a safe and productive work environment by training employees on what is considered harassment, how to prevent it and what to do if they see or experience sexual harassment. The Preventing Harassment Program will save time and money and build company morale.
Employment Law 101
Managers and Supervisors have numerous legal obligations in the workplace under both federal and state law. This program arms your managers with practical and essential information concerning the most important, and often mis-understood, employment laws they need to know in order to not run afoul of those laws, protect employee rights and prevent employer liability.
The Respectful Workplace training was very interesting and informative. They told a number of stories from their own experience that made the presentation very interesting and sometimes humorous. The materials were clear and provided some very helpful suggestions for creating a respectful workplace. These kinds of trainings can sometimes be boring, but they were able to present the material in a lively and engaging manner that kept everyone's attention. I would recommend them for any organization that desires to educate their employees on how to properly treat each other at the workplace.Trish, Firm Administrator
They were extremely accommodating to our scheduling needs and gave us an outline ahead of time so that we could review and add or remove anything that was not pertinent to our goals for the training. The facilitator was extremely informative when there were questions and provided anecdotal evidence that clearly illustrated real life scenarios that we encounter on a daily basis, and how she would advise we handle those moving forward. The training has given our management team as a whole a new level of confidence in dealing with our daily employee and customer interactions. I can honestly say that this training strengthened our team and would highly recommend it to others!Kaitlin, HR Manager
They spoke twice at our conference on Employment Law 101 and Social Media in the workplace. The Employment Law training materials were comprehensive and we received many positive comments on the feedback forms. The Social Media training covered how employers can, and cannot, control what their employees post on their social media accounts. It was extremely informative and timely. She was an excellent presenter/trainer. She is professional, informative, engaging, and articulate. Not only do I highly recommend her, but I am confident your organization will see positive results after her presentation.Dana, CPA & Conference Board Member
